What to wear
This is a big question I get asked by many of my beautiful clients, so I’m going to give you a few suggestions with some helpful tips and mood boards for ideas and inspiration…. enjoy!
What you and your family wear for your photo session is one of the key elements in how your images will turn out. It’s a great idea to wear earthy or neutral tones, this will keep the focus on the connection and interaction between you and your family, and you won’t be distracted by large logos or strong patterns.
Textured or organic fabrics like cotton, linen, lace or woollen knits in winter are best. Try and stay away from synthetic materials.
In cooler months layering materials looks great too, like a dress with a chunky knit over the top.
Keeping it simple and making sure you are 100% comfortable is key. If you feel confident and amazing, this will shine through in the images. You want to be able to be spontaneous and pick up your kids or babies without having to fuss over clothes. You want to look casual rather than business looking.
Consider where you are going, to the beach or river…. you may get wet, to the the country, you may be sitting on rocks or grass.
If you are in a family or group, its best to co-ordinate a colour palate or style.Perhaps choosing a colour palate of three colours that everyone can pick from.. You don’t need to be “matchy matchy”, but making sure you are not clashing and blend together well, will be more harmonious.
